October!

Hello! Lou here - finally getting a chance to sit down a write a little something about all things crafty!

It's been a mad couple of weeks since we set up this website. I've gone from having all the time in the world to craft and upload my craftings to having literally no time to do anything but lesson plan and mark books. I went from being a lost but creative lockdown soul to being thrust into the mega crazy life of an NQT, trying to navigate how to be a real life MIss Carter in a pandemic.

Nevertheless, I have powered through and despite being extremely desperate to get back to a normal working life and routine after 6 months in my little flat; I can't tell you how grateful I am that my school get 2 weeks off this half term, rather than just the one. It's meant that I have been able to spend the first week recovering in the foetal position on my sofa, surrounded by snacks, wine and my new hamster friend; doing nothing but binge watch 7 seasons of Sons of Anarchy and catch up on some reading. This second week, I can get ahead of myself in terms of lesson planning and get back to the crafty lifestyle that I had cultivated before the madness of the school term began!

One of the things that I did not want to lose from all of that time off work was my creativity. It's like I had found it again when there was nobody but me and my little ham for weeks on end in my flat. I have still managed to be creative, but it has manifested itself more into power points and worksheets since September began. Now that I know what to expect during term time, I can now plan to make time for other art projects throughout the week to make more pretty little trinkets to offer on this very website.

Despite the madness, I have managed to make some crafty gifts for friend's birthday's and my boyfriend's parent's wedding anniversary - they are all packaged nicely and ready to be sent off tomorrow.

Once they've been received I can reveal what was inside of them!

I also made my first sale on etsy, from the Little Whiskers Matter section which means that the hamster and small furries rescues that brought my beautiful little Syrian blob Buffy into my life got a donation sent to them! More information on that in another blog post, coming soon!

One thing that is on the horizon is a relocation, my boyfriend and I are taking that step to move in together! One of the benefits of this is that I will gain a proper workspace!

Currently all of my art supplies are in a little corner of my lounge and my kitchen breakfast bar doubles up as my stock space! In every flat that we look at, I make sure I can envision a space for a big shelving unit where all of my supplies can be organised neatly with easy access. But alas, everywhere we have looked at so far has been teeny tiny! Hopefully something will come along soon!

With Halloween just round the corner and Christmas fast approaching, what I would like to spend some time doing this week is creating some decorations in preparation for the festive season! We'll be introducing a Halloween and Black Friday sale with some seasonal offers to look forward to throughout the winter months. In the meantime, watch this space! I promise to make more time to be more crafty, even when I'm in full Miss Carter swing! Check out all of the new listings that have been uploaded onto the shop tonight. Everything that I have on my stock space/breakfast bar is not uploaded and available and I can't wait to make that first sale through this site! Without having to worry about etsy fees we can offer them to you for much more reasonable prices.

Take care, wear a mask and all that and feel free to get in touch about anything that you see on here!

Chip, the wise hamster Buddha encourages you to take a look at our stock. She assures us all that it leads to the path of enlightenment.

Lou xXx
